And thus our brave protagonists Loreath (Lore for short) and Nii’na rented a sailboat and set out on their journey to go surfing in the deepest part of the Magic Sea. Why magic you might ask? Well simple, the sea was filled with mana. At night the water glowed, the weather was unpredictable and supernatural phenomena happened quite often. So why did our brave (or foolish should I say?) heroes decide to go to such a dangerous place? who knows… even if they don’t know, they just decided to.
It was early morning. Nii and Lore, drunk already by 8 am, stumbled down the pier and mounted their rented sailboat. They never operated a sailboat before but figured it couldn’t be harder than riding a war bear while drunk. So after a few more mugs of rum for ‘good luck’, they set sail. Checking their equipment to make sure they had their surfboards with them, they were ready. Lore estimated it’ll take a few hours to get to the deep parts where random swirling waves were common.
Nii estimated it to take a few days but her navigation skills were lacking so Lore took charge, and a bottle of rum with him. And thus they set sail. After an hour of sailing in a random direction, Nii shouted from the front of the ship “Land ahoy” to which Lore replied -“that’s a whale you dumbass” and a whale it was. A magical flying phantom whale. It flew out of the water and swam graciously through the air ascending higher and higher. The 2 adventurers admired the rare view.
Phantom whales were extremely rare, almost as rare as dragons. In fact, some called the phantom whales ‘water dragons’ for their mighty magic powers and rarity. Seeing a phantom whale was associated with good luck and seen as a good omen due to their friendly nature and rarity. Lore cheered – “that’ll be a great day” Nii sighed admiring the magnificent creatures – “how i wish it was a hot au’ra boy in speedos,” said she quietly to herself.
Another few hours of sailing passed uneventfully and the duo found themselves in the ‘vortex triangle’ a section in the magic seal which is known for having spontaneously spawning vortexes. They weren’t particularly dangerous or large, but they made it hard to control and could give quite the dizziness due to spinning the boat around. Lore held onto the helm (The ship’s steering wheel) and grunted – “ugghh!! The vortex is …!! Losing control!” he shouted as Nii held onto the mast as their boat goat pulled into a small vortex, making the boat lose control and start spinning. Lore released the helm, giving up on trying to maintain control as he held onto the sail’s rope, getting flung around! Nii held onto the mast screaming – “I THOUGHT YOU KNEW WHERE TO GO!!?” to which lore replied with a -“You sold the compass for booze not me!” The duo found themselves being flung around in an ever-spinning ship as it was pulled from 1 vortex to another, until at last…
at least a savior came to their aid! From the dark depth of the magic sea, a hero they had only ever heard of in bard’s tales came! Onto the deck from the water a man leaped. He landed and stood firm despite the boat being tossed and thrown around – “A damsel in distress? I have come to your rescue!!” he said in a firm voice ignoring the wobbling and spinning, to which Nii replied- “shut up before I…” a wave crashed against the ship making Nii lose her grip on the mast and fall over.
But before Nii could impact the ground, the heroic man caught her and held her in his mighty arms. He was a humanoid with fish scales and gills on his neck but human skin and face. He looked at her and smiled – “Fear not for I am here! I, the great Ocean Man!” he wore blue speedos and not much else. His physique was impressive but Nii was not impressed, she glared at him – “Sit me down and get us out of here!” She demanded but the hero only smiled
-“Now now! Is there any way to treat your hero, damsel in distress?” TO which Nii flashed her fang and grinned – “Listen here fishboy! Set me down or i’ll feast on your blood!” she wrapped her hand around his neck and started playfully dragging her nails down his neck. The ocean man dropped her down and shivered, clearly flustered. He instantly jumped overboard and dived, catching the boat and straightening it out before beginning to pull it out of the vortex zone.
And thus the ocean man pulled their sailboat out of the vortex zone. Lore handed him a bottle of rum and slapped him on the ass – “go now fishboy! We have waves to catch” and Nii ignored him entirely. The ocean man left in confusion and our adventurers, Nii and Lore found themselves in the ‘miracle surfing’ zones. This area was loved by surfers of all kingdoms as the place with the best waves. The waves would something sprint, switch directions, or even switch gravity and be upside down.
It truly was surfing heaven and so our drunk, dizzy duo grabbed their surfboards and jumped off their board catching the incoming glittering wave! As Lore jumped on his board and stood up he found himself feeling weightless as the glittering wave threw him 20 meters into the air, making him light as a feather for the duration of the fall. Nii in turn found herself enjoying that same very wave, but turning 5x smaller instead. The wave dissipated and Nii turned back to normal again.
The next wave was bouncing up and down like a musical visualizer. Then the duo found themselves riding that wave and they could hear some amazing music playing straight in their thoughts. For the next short while they enjoyed waves which had random effects and their time until a wave came crashing through, so fast they had no time to respond. And as the frightening, dark blue wave covered them, they found themselves tumbling through space for a while before they were blinded by a light and then they impacted the sandy ground. After quickly stumbling to their feet and blinking a few times to regain their senses, the 2 found themselves standing in a desert of sorts, many pillars lined the environment with no clear indication as to where they were.
As the 2 regained their senses and quickly sobered up, Nii asked – “uhh… Lore what’d you do?” but Lore, the handsome lala shrugged – “look darling! if I knew I’d not be here now would I? Use your silly cat brain and get us out!” He chuckled but Nii only twitched her tail angrily in response at him -“listen here you little….football sized…. grrr!” she growled, and as she did the ground shook with a mighty, deep roar which deafened and disoriented our already disoriented and confused duo.
Nii ran up to Lore and stood behind him, but then a moment later burst into laughter – “hah! hiding behind a lala” she said as Lore picked up a stick from the ground – “uhuh… that sounded dangerous anyhow… we should hide” A powerful gust of wind picked up sand and dust in the area, blinding the adventurers. A deafeningly loud sound of wings beating thundered through the sandy valley. As they looked up, desperately trying to see through the dust and sand, they could see a massive shape!!
the shape which has only ever been described in legends! The duo froze in awe as they admired the enormous beast which hovered above them, descending slowly! “A…a…dr..dragon!???” Uttered Lore as his jaw hung open and his body froze in place -“bu…but they shouldn’t exist!” he said in a trembling voice. Nii fell to her knees behind him- “aha….a .. dragon… what else could it be?” she spoke in a voice full of despair and disbelief in a mighty flap of its wings, the final one for now the magnificent creatures of the legends made its landing with a loud ‘thump’ As the dust and sand settled the dragon observed the 2 trembling figures before it. One too small to even make a decent snack and 1 far too skinny to be worth eating, not recognizing them as a threat in any way the mighty creature took a step closer, sniffing the air around the intruders before letting out a loud, thundering and deafening sigh which shook them.
The dragon did not deem them interesting, nor did it see them as a threat. Lore spoke quietly – “i think it’s n…not interested” but Nii only pointed at the dragon cocking its head back and taking a deep breath – “y…you sure? I think it’s gonna BURN USSS” she said as she started running to the side. Lore, without thinking twice ran in the opposite direction
but before the dragon could shoot a fireball, it realized its prey ran in 2 directions, so in a swift move, it turned, swatting Nii with its tail, sending her tumbling to the nearest rock pillar as it turned to shoot the fireball at terrified, running Lore. And as it did, before Lore even had time to react, a rock from the skies fell, blocking the fireball. Lore fell to the ground in shock – “i… huh??” A loud constant rumbling filled the air, and as Lore looked up he knew he recognized the sound.
A Meteor was heading their way. Aimed clearly at the dragon. But the dragon was no fool, it swiftly jumped to the side and took flight, dodging the falling meteor but as it flapped its wings and took flight, a mighty beast leaped upon it from behind! Its claws shredded the dragon’s wings, sending it tumbling down to the ground and screeching in pain!
The creature, vaguely resembling a strange mix of Cat and Dog, pinned the dragon’s head into the sand as it stood, presumably victorious atop the mystical beast! Lore, crawling backward in sheer terror shaking his head – “no no no! This can’t be true! this is impossible! Surely we’re still in the magic sea!” And as he did he could see the dragon’s face, contorted with anger and despair for the creature which pinned it. The mighty being was not going to let this slide. The dragon’s eyes changed color as its stomach began to glow slightly, its throat lighting up. Lore’s eyes widened as he was pulled up to his feet by Nii- “RUN YOU IDIOT” She shouted! but Lore just stood in place, admiring the view – “no point… we won’t escape!”
And the mighty dragon whimpered! recognizing its own demise in its upcoming action! as if making the final plea the whimpered echoed through the valley. The creature atop the dragon roared in response! Letting all in the area know who the new king was! But little did it know its demise was coming shortly. As thus the dragon roared with all its might!
And it roared and shook the stone pillars and the ground! A roar of the dying king! As the echoes of the dragon’s roar died down the air was instantly filled with a loud bang! An explosion is so powerful it turned everything in a 300 meter radius to dust! The creature and the dragon were turned into nothing more than the myth they were meant to be. And Nii, and Lore…. admired the horrific sight before them as the blast reached them and turned them into no more than memories as well. They had no time to even think about the events, it was inevitable!
Nobody heard from Nii and Lore for a week and they were presumed dead! Their boat was found empty in the magic sea, anchored where they went surfing.
